The kids wanted to sleep in a tent in their bedroom. Three kids in a small tent after they are already tired do not lend themselves to sophisticated composition or many attempts at a good pose. Still, got to do a little off camera lighting.
Strobist: 430ex with diffuser/reflector cap shot through screen at top of tent, so slightly closer to the camera than their faces, allowing for some catchlight in their eyes.
Lessons learned: (1) f/8 is a very useful aperture for clarity with kids. (2) The collision of colors and patterns made me want to do this in black & white, but that took away the context of a colorfull tent. (3) When trying to create an image every day, sometimes I need to take what I’m given.
